Design commissions

General

Design of weapons and armour are something I started doing, mainly for myself, sometime in 2021 while COVID showed a slight increase in commissions.

They were starting as doodles for designs I had to burn into the foam and a rough size overview but soon turned into technical drawing in a set ratio making it easier to draw patterns by simply being able to meassure each width and length.

So, as an example someone came up to me with the following message:

Hi! So i want to cosplay Liu Mingyan but her sword is only mentioned in like, two paragraphs. So I figured since I've seen your drawing in the Danmei group of your Xin Mo design, maybe you can help. These are the quotes:









She followed up with the two pictures of the quotes (which give us basically nothing but a name and shape) and I sent her a few examples of inspirations. She chose a colour scheme based on the character, a few inspirations for me to lean on and to have me do a blade and a sheath as well, making me come up with the following design:





She got a rough price range of 210-250€ for sword and sheath after agreeing to the sketch and after paying for the patterning I made these as well.

Monochrome designs are helpful, but sometimes a coloured one is needed for gradients or lights.

Which is why I also offer designs with a colour-scheme worked in, in hues and fragments only though so the colour doesn't get overwhelming.



Prices for coloured hues are as listed above plus an additional 5€ per design.
